Hi there! I'm a music teacher and private academic tutor for students with learning disabilities, but I have taught in every capacity you can think of! Since I graduated with a degree in music (viola) with honors from UC Berkeley in 2010 I have been a full time substitute, classroom music/orchestra/private teacher with 42 private students a week and a k-12 academic tutor, all in public and private schools with both high and low income students from various demographics. But more to the point, I love teaching and tutoring. I believe in giving back the quality education I've received, and there's nothing more fulfilling than helping someone else reach their goals. My students tell me I'm a fun, engaging teacher who is understanding and accommodating to their needs, but not afraid crack down and be strict when necessary. I am currently in the process of moving to Seattle to attend the University of Washington for my Master's in Music Education and Cognition. I look forward to meeting you!
I was the full time music instructor in the classroom, before and after school at Brighton. I designed and implemented my own world cultures, theory, and performance curriculum each year for grades k-5, with 42 private music students.
I received my certification to teach world music in a private and classroom setting. The course was put on by Smithsonian Folkways, a music branch of the Smithsonian Institute, and held at the University of Washington.
