Hi! My name is Gity, I'm a professional composer with Bachelor and Master's degrees from The Juilliard School in composition. I started playing the piano when I was 7 years old, and kept on performing piano until my career as a composer became very demanding. But I still teach piano because I love the instrument and I enjoy practicing! When teaching piano, I tap into my knowledge and techniques I've developed as a professional, working musician over more than a decade not just as a pianist but also as a composer. My teaching techniques makes the lessons for my students fun, interactive and comprehensive: you learn not just how to press the keys and read the notes (as one of my old piano teachers used to say,) but you learn about musicality, compositional backbone of a piece. You learn how to decipher the score and look for clues that would make understanding and interpreting a piece of music easy and fun.
