Giovanna teaches vocals, flute, songwriting, and beginner piano. Giovanna has 3 years of music teaching experience focusing on flute and vocals. One of her albums has over 33,000 streams worldwide. Giovanna first was exposed to the album "Sam Cooke Live at the Harlem Square Club" at age 2, and could not help but dance. Since then she was a huge lover of music. She started playing piano at age 6 and playing the flute when she was in the 4th grade. She fell in love with the flute and entered competitions throughout middle school and high school. She studied flute under world-renowned flutist, Laurel Zucker for a few years and was in the concert band at Sacramento State University. As she played the flute, she gained an interest in singing. Flute taught her breath control and singing became natural to her. She started singing with a jazz combo band in high school. She later performed with Todd Morgan & the Emblems as a backup vocalist and worked on the album Reality. On this album, she recorded backup vocals on several songs, co-wrote "Make It Right" and "If That's Enough for You" with Todd Morgan, and co-produced the album. "Make It Right” received an honorable mention for vocal performance in The Songwriter Universe Blog in Spring 2011. Moving to Texas, she found happily found her musical home. She started her own band called DeNova writing original music. She has performed with Texas bands such as the Paco Estrada Band, Departure ATX, and Jumpstart. Her most recent projects are Lumiere Lullabies and "Life Lessons" with Terrill Jenkins. Lumiere Lullabies is a collection of classic songs from movies. One of the album songs has over 27,000 streams on Spotify and the album has over 33,000 listens worldwide. Giovanna loves working with kids of all ages and is excited to see her students grow in their musical endeavors!
