Hello! I am a young and enthusiastic teacher from Northern Ireland, UK. I've been fortunate enough to have travelled to many parts of the world and I have met some fascinating people and heard some incredible stories along the way. Maybe I can share some of these with you during our lessons!
me as a teacher:
As a teacher I am very intuitive to the needs of each student. I actively work towards a goal each class to help my students reach their bigger goals in life. Each of my classes is planned ahead of time with materials that will challenge and encourage rapid learning. It is important to practice each of the main skills: reading, grammar, writing, pronunciation. I also incorporate idiomatic phrases and cultural references into my lessons so that students can walk away feeling like they know a little more about English speaking countries.
At the beginning of our first lesson I will speak to you to get to know some of your interests. I will make a note of this and while I am planning our future classes you will be completing a competency test in English especially designed to let me know what level you are currently at. The test is merely for me to get a deeper understanding of which areas I can help you with. So no need to stress!
After that I will come back to our second lesson with a clear specialised plan, of which you will also receive a copy. The classes will be structured in a way that challenges you to learn a new grammatical term, piece of vocabulary and a particular pronunciation sound in each class.
TESOL International Association’s mission is to advance professional expertise in English language teaching and learning for speakers of other languages worldwide.
