In 1997 I founded Symphony Studios, Inc as a business to teach piano and voice. My wife and I also took over running The Young Singers of Pennsylvania which was a children's chorus made up of kids from 8 to 13. She was the director and I was the accompanist. At that time I also started a "Bagpipes for Beginners" program in a local night school that became 2 pipe bands in the local area. Since then I have continued to teach privately. I have taught dozens of people to play the piano, bagpipes and sing in that period of time. I also play over a 150 gigs per year and sell bagpipes and equipment. I have written my own teaching program called "Bagpipes For Beginners" and have published 2 other books besides that.
The goal of music lessons in my humble opinion is to be come a relatively accomplished player. I specialize in rhythm and sight reading.
If you have a desire to learn the bagpipes, please don't buy any pipes. We have everything that you need to get started.
I have spent the last 18 years owning my own teaching business. I have taught piano, voice and bagpipes in that period of time on a full time basis. I have also made a good living doing that, so my students must have thought that they were getting a return for their music education dollars.
I have been self employed as a Bagpipe, Voice and Piano teacher for the last 17 years. I have taught scores of students in that time.
