Dear Prospective Student,
My name is Gary. I started out playing the Bagpipe in High School as we were the "Highlanders" and had a bagpipe band as part of the marching band. I competed in solo competitions played my way to the top. As I will be 60 this year, I have been playing for 45 years and teaching full time for the last 20 years. I am very fortunate to be making a good living doing work that I love to do.
You need 3 things to learn the bagpipe. The first thing that you don't need is a set of bagpipes to get started. That purchase happens with most of my students between the 8th and the 12th month of lessons. My average student will spend between $1500 and $2000 on their pipes. Start saving now. The only thing that you need are a Practice Chanter, a book and 30 minutes with me once a week. I have the Practice Chanters and Books. Don't buy anything until we meet. To get started book 4 lessons with me. If you have any questions please feel free to email me through this website. I look forward to working with you.
I have spent the last 20 years owning my own teaching business. I have taught piano, voice and bagpipes in that period of time on a full time basis. I have also made a good living doing that, so my students must have thought that they were getting a return for their music education dollars.+ Read More
I have been self employed as a Bagpipe, Voice and Piano teacher for the last 17 years. I have taught scores of students in that time.
