I'm a very experienced in photography and experienced in teaching.
Photography is a great creative venture that can take your personal time to a new level and if you're considering a career change that is doable also.
I have enjoyed photography for most of my life and worked in many specialties including commercial, advertising, catalog and portrait photography. In the last few years I have found a major level of satisfaction in passing this enjoyable passion along to others. During my career I have regularly taught photo processes at my local camera club. I currently am a Master at the Arcanum, a mentor/apprentice format of long term photo learning. I am a past president of the Memphis Professional Photographers Guild, an organization to direct folks new to the photography business.
I help folks to reach their goals in photography. I had a student recently that said she needed a new camera for the class. We talked about the possibilities. She showed up at the class with a Best Buy bag containing a Nikon kit box, including camera and lenses. She started fresh...very fresh. That class started truly at the beginning for those 25 people. Helping beginners rocks. I can teach an elaborate lighting set-up or processes in PhotoShop but when people move from no ability in Photography to creating beautiful images, that's a great feeling. I am very open to answering any questions about a varied list of techniques and specialties in photography but my effort as an entry point for TakeLessons is basic photography, Lightroom and PhotoShop. Look over the subjects I've listed and let me know your interests.
I am a self-taught photographer from the early days of darkroom and film and then moving into the photo-lab business. From there I opened my own studio and specialized in advertising and catalog photography. I have always enjoyed the work of photography; but, weekends and travel time have been filled with my favorite hobby....photography. So you'll find in the slideshow that I've included some images from work and also my travel and experimental projects. Numerous people photographs I've made are protected (limited releases) and can only be shown in very limited context. My photography will find itself in many mailboxes before May in mailers for AutoZone. FedEx has used my photographs for Facebook communications projects and press releases and magazine articles. If you've been through the Memphis International Airport recently you've seen my photographs of Tony Allen, a great player for the Memphis Grizzlies. He is spokesperson for the airport.
Take your time and look over these offerings. If the things that you seek are not clearly stated, send me a question. I'll give you 100% honesty as to whether I can help or not.
I look forward to hearing from you,
