I'm a life long educator who has worked with preschool, elementary school, young adult, and adult students. After graduating from Duke University, I later got my masters degree in Education in New York City. I taught elementary school for 14 years, then decided to become an ESL teacher. I've worked in schools, and also have my own business, called Personal ESL.
I try to find the best techniques for each of my students, treating them as individuals with specific needs. I work with students at all levels, and provide materials free of charge. In lessons we use grammar texts, reading texts, online speeches, and newspaper articles to make the lessons interesting and worthwhile. Satisfaction is guaranteed!
I have worked with Frederick from 2013 to 2015. I was a scientist working in a biotech company trying to have a career transition and breaking into business/finance world by then. Now I'm working at an investment firm in New York. I have to say that Frederick's classes helped me a lot on my career.
Frederick is not only a good teacher but also a very good friend and adviser. We had been working on improving my oral and written English for over two years in Boston. I enjoyed the discussion with Frederick in the class, which not only helped my communication skills in English but also helped me to learn the American culture. I also had writing assignment for every class and Frederick would review my writings and correct my mistakes. We had tried many different writing styles including novel, news pieces, business writing and cover letters for job application, etc. Frederick also helped me a lot on preparing interviews, advised me on my career choices, and encouraged me a lot when I faced challenges and failures during the job application process.
So if you want to improve your English and have a good friend who really wants to help you, call Frederick.
