Play the banjo like a country star — learn from a sought-after instructor.

A very fun instrument to play. I tend to focus on Earl Scruggs style rolls, understanding and incorporating melody, and chords.

Hello, future student. I want to tell you just a little about myself to see if you would like to study with me. I have over 20 years of teaching experience with degrees from West Virginia University, Berklee College of Music, the University of West London, along with a Doctorate in Music Education from Boston University. Playing an instrument is such an enjoyable way to spend your time, and I know that learning to play something new in any style of music, whether it be Classical, Blues, Pop, Bluegrass, Country, or Rock, is a challenge, but I can help. I have available slots every day; once we figure out a time that works, I'll have a better idea of how to teach you so we can get down to playing some music. Please feel free to contact me. I am happy to set up a session to talk and introduce myself. I will gladly answer any questions you may have. Take care, and I hope to hear from you soon.

I am 72 years old and have been trying to learn the banjo on my own for years with no success. I have taken several lessons from Frankie and I am actually learning how to play! He is a great teacher and if you email him with a question you can expect a quick reply. I look forward to my weekly lesson and would highly recommend Frankie.
