Being Bilingual Can Help You Earn Between 5% and 20% More. America Has 40 Million Spanish Speakers

You can learn Spanish. It's as simple as that. Take it from me. I speak seven languages Most people struggle to learn a language and will get discouraged by convincing themselves that they aren't cut out for it. They will claim that it takes great intelligence, luck, or talent that they do not possess. This is wrong: everyone can master more languages. In my class we will have an organic discussion on many subjects that are intended to teach you the language in an intuitive way that does not require you to parse over conjugation tables or conjunctions; instead, what we will be doing is having a constant conversation where the learning will be done by doing, ie speaking, and listening. However, this is not enough, most people could have the greatest teacher and still not learn the language and this is why most people fail at it. That is where my class sets itself apart: I will be constantly looking to find what it is that you like about the language, what your motivation is, and where your passion could be. This is because in my experience the single greatest predictor for language acquisition is interest in the language, or in simpler terms, only those who wanted to learn the language actually did. I will help you find what it is that you like about it and after I have discovered it, your learning will be exponentially easier and you will begin speaking immediately and even thinking and dreaming in your new language. There is one side effect, though, and it is that you will have fun. Beware...

    About Anthony S.

Hey there! Let me introduce myself: I am the one History teacher that you won't' hate. Yeah, I could sell you on "making you love history" or "show you the importance of studying the past" but while it is true for me and a few others, for most people History is a drag on the GPA, their mood, and their academic experience. So, here's what I can guarantee you: with me, you won't hate the subject and it won't be torture to study it. Most will like History far more than before they met me, some will even love it, but that is partly up to your level of interest and commitment. In the meantime, your understanding of History will improve and your schoolwork will be so much easier. I can teach any Western History, from US History (and APUSH) to World History (and AP) to European and Ancient History. What you will find with me is that I can understand history better than your schoolteacher because I have had more direct contact with it: I have studied on three continents, including getting my MA at the University of Chicago, my BA in Italy, and, starting a second MA at the University of Rome. Beyond History, I am proficient in most school subjects and can teach most of them- except for high school exact sciences and math. That means I can help you with social sciences up K-college, and with bio, physics, and math up to 8th grade. In case you're not sure if I can help, feel free to ask! See you soon.

    Experience

    Independent Volunteer

    Jan, 2013 - Jan, 2019

    Volunteering

I have volunteered in almost any situation imaginable since I was a teenager. Much of my time doing public service was teaching at all levels, situations, and grades. Thus, I have taught languages, tutored in math and physics, taught Civics and History, mentored overachieving students so they could better exploit their potential, guided underachieving students so they could find their academic excellence, and worked as a Teacher's Assistant, and an after-school tutor.

    Educator

    Nov, 2021 - Jun, 2022

    University of Chicago

As part of the Neighborhood School Program, I was a teacher, tutor, and mentor at a South Chicago inner-city school where I became the lead lecturer for 8th-grade Civics for which I had to create a curriculum and plan lessons, was a TA for Mathematics 6th-8th, led a group of young readers in advanced English, reading, and literature for 6th grade ELA, and helped coordinate, organize, manage, and plan classes.

    Volunteer

    Feb, 2019 - Apr, 2019

International Association of Students in Economics and Business

I volunteered in Brazil for a trimester where I taught children from ages 4 through 17 any subject with which they needed help
