Teaching people that believe they have no natural ability to paint is one of my greatest passions. I specialize in those who have always dreamed of becoming a painter but had no idea how to begin and little to no confidence. If you can sign your name, I can teach you to paint! Over the years I've developed a method of teaching that allows anyone to paint. Although a strong foundation in drawing skills is something that all artist should possess, with this method I can have even the person that can't make a stick figure create their first beautiful painting, worthy of framing and displaying in no time at all. A Little About Me: In childhood, I began my art career painting with a box of Prang Oval Pan watercolors in elementary school. Love of creation continued throughout schooling. During junior and senior years at high school I was awarded an art program through Carnegie Mellon. From that time forward, my passion has been art in some form or fashion. During the late 80's and early 90's I owned and operated an art studio and party store that specialized in private & corporate decorating for parties, meetings and product launches. Clients included Lipton, Boeing and many local restaurants and clubs. In the 90's I moved to Williamsburg, Virginia, establishing Kabbit Arts Studio and Northbound Studio. My work while in Virginia could be seen in This Century Art Gallery, where one mosaic piece is on permanent exhibit. In 2015, I relocated to beautiful Canton, Connecticut. I started painting many years ago and like many of us, I let life get in the way, forcing a 10 year hiatus. I connected with Faith last year and she erased my time off, leap frogging me to a higher level, so I now can produce paintings more than my wife and mother appreciate. I have studied under a number of teachers the past thirty years and the experience was less than satisfying. In fact, I felt like the teacher did more painting than teaching. My experience with Faith was very different. Faith allowed me to create, breaking down each study piece by piece, reintroducing me to forgotten techniques and teaching me new ones. I walked away from our first lesson ( several hours) with a beautiful work of art. Best of all; it's my art!

If you're anything like me and don't exactly believe in yourself when it comes to learning how to paint, then you e found the right instructor. Faith is amazingly patient and believes in my abilities more than I do! She understand that I'm not able to always complete assignments right away and that having a one year old can at times leave absolutely no time for other things. The fact that she is thousands of miles away and can STILL teach me online as if she were right in front of me is AMAZING. I truly did not believe that learning to paint online was even possible, but Faith made it. The lessons are easy to understand and although right now we've started with acrylics the goal is to move on to oils as well! She understands limited time and budget and works with me to make sure I'm understanding what I'm doing. Seriously, if you've always wanted to learn but never felt capable nor had enough time, you've found the right person. And if you've already had experience and need to advance or just brush up on your skills, this is the right instructor for you. I cannot say enough about her abilities, her patience, consistency, and how much she believes in me. Knowing that I have someone who truly cares about me learning helps me want to learn even when I'm exhausted and feeling discouraged. I promise, learning with Faith as your instructor is something you'll never regret, and NO I'm not just saying this....its actually TRUE!

Last week I finished my first watercolor lesson with Faith. I was so nervous when I got there but within minutes I felt relaxed and excited to get started. I've tried beginner lessons before and in the past, the teachers or workshops assumed you know a lot before you even got there! What I wanted was first of all, someone to show me what tools and materials to use and why. I got more exactly what I wanted and more. Can't wait for our next lesson. The studio is in such a beautiful place, just being there feels inspirational, too!
