20 years experience playing cello.

Faisal has performed on cello in many ensembles, including the Puget Sound University Symphony, the International Honor Orchestra, and various musical groups. Former mentors include Stuart Hake and Cordelia Miedel.

Faisal is a multi-instrumentalist and composer with over 15 years of teaching experience. He is passionate about composition, improvisation, music theory, and microtonal music in particular. 

Notable mentors include:
- Studied cello with Cordelia Wikarski-Miedel.
- Studied upright bass and jazz with Glen Moore.
- Studied composition with Robert Hutchinson.

Faisal is teaching me guitar and cello. I am a 67 year old woman and I love learning from him! He is upbeat and so knowledgable and the online format works very well for both of us. (Lessons were in person pre-covid). He is wonderfully skilled on the cello and guitar and piano and is able to present the theory in a way I can take it in easily. He has sourced and purchased instruments for me and tailored music, instruments, and lessons to my unique needs (small hands, paunchy stomach, some arthritis). He is positively wonderful with children! I give him my highest recommendation!

Faisal is a fantastic teacher and very smart individual. He is a true renaissance man, with skills in many areas. He also does lessons online, which is very convenient in 2020!
