Hi everyone!
My name is Fabrizio Sciacca and I'm here to help you to become a better bassist and a better musician.
I'm originally from Italy where I lived until 2011, when I decided to pursue my career in music after I won a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.
There I had the chance to study with some of the best musicians, just to name a few: John Patitucci, Danilo Perez, Victor Bailey, Victor Wooten...
From them not only I learnt the art of music, but also the art of teaching. Some of the topics we covered were: understanding the student's needs, developing the right technique on the instrument and freely express yourself through music.
After graduating in bass and double bass Performance, I moved to New York City in order to continue my education with a Master Degree in Composition and Performance at the Manhattan School of Music, where i graduated in 2018.
Throughout the two years I improved my teaching skills taking classes on Pedagogy and learning from some of the best teachers/musicians: Dave Liebman, Phil Markowitz and Ron Carter (with whom I still study nowadays).
Beside that, I'm an active member of New York jazz scene. I play, record and teach all the time.
It would be amazing catching you at one of my shows sometimes!
I have a lot of experience in the teaching field. I started teaching in 2013 when I was still living in Italy. During this time i had students of different ages and different levels. Later on, once I completed my education, I started delivering lessons again in 2018.
How I like to structure my lessons:
- Listening to the student's goals;
- Providing the right material to reach those goals (technique, reading, improvisation, ear training);
- Applying the concepts on a real musical situation (studying different styles, like funk, rock, jazz, bossa nova);
- Giving listening material to find the right inspiration and develop a good musical taste;
- Developing a personal approach to the instrument and music (the one that will make other musicians hearing YOU in what you play).
Feel free to drop me a message. I'll be happy to answer to any of your questions.
Looking forward to working with you.
Fabrizio

Before taking lessons with Fabrizio, I wasn't a big fan of online lessons. He really made me change my mind about it. Super clear and helpful. Absolutely great!
