Singing with Evan G.

Hello Students! My name is Evan G and I've been teaching for nearly 15 years. I was raised by music educators and began playing guitar at age six. I do it all; performing, writing, recording, building and teaching (guitar, voice, ukulele, music theory, live performance, etc). I have a Bachelors in Music from Cornish College of the Arts (2003-2007) and I've studied and performed with many great musicians from all over the world. My teaching methods begin with your goals and your needs as a musician. I will get you there. My main areas of expertise are Jazz, Latin, Blues, Funk and Rock. Guitar and bass students will begin with a fundamental foundation of scales, chords, rhythms and theory that will fully prepare them for whichever direction they choose to go. Advanced students will focus on ear training, learning songs, transcriptions, solo/chord melody arrangements, singing while playing and if interested, songwriting. Ukulele students will focus on scales, chord voicings and songs. Vocal students, I will teach to sing and sound the way you'd like with proper breathing and muscle techniques, note placement and sight singing. Music Performance students will study live sound equipment, how to hear themselves live and how to communicate with their band and sound crew. They will also focus on stance, positioning of instrument and microphones and how to interact with a crowd.
