    About Evan B.

    Evan is a freelance musician in the Los Angeles area. Before moving to Los Angeles, he was a freelance tubist and educator in Atlanta, GA. He performed regularly with the Georgia State University Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, Emory University Wind Ensemble, and The Georgia Brass Band. While freelancing, Evan also maintained a private tuba studio as well as teaching part-time at high schools in the Atlanta areas. Evan has had the privilege to perform with a wide variety of music ensembles. He has performed with various orchestras and wind ensembles as well as other ensembles which include brass quintet, tuba quartet, tuba/euphonium quartet, brass bands, Tamborazo groups, jazz combos, big band jazz ensembles, marching bands, and Dixieland jazz groups. While performing with these various ensembles, he has taught students at area high schools in GA and CA to be involved with the many opportunities available. Evan has performed with various orchestras and wind ensembles at venues in the South East United States such as the Tivoli Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Hall, Woodruff Arts Center, Rialto Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Fox Theatre. He has also performed in Walt Disney Concert Hall since moving to Los Angeles. Evan is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Tuba Performance at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. There he studies with Norman Pearson, Doug Tornquist, and Jim Self. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. There he studied tuba with Eric Bubacz as well as taking lessons from Dr. Adam Frey (euphonium) and Dr. Cory Mixdorf (trombone). While at Georgia State, Evan met his wife, Caitlin. In their leisure, the couple enjoys going on hikes, exploring new areas around Los Angeles, experiencing new cuisine, and staying at home and watching TV shows and movies.
