    About Eva L.

Eva found new life and beauty through musical study, and she hopes to help others do the same. Her classical training has helped her perform opera, musical numbers, jazz, choral music, contemporary and traditional church music, and classical solo repertoire. Eva is most interested in teaching students how to teach themselves and develop their own sense of musicality. Eva taught voice/piano for 3 years in Durham, NC where she worked as a Choral Scholar and sang with the Durham Choral Society. During this time, she also completed a Masters degree in theology at Duke. The feedback from my former students is unanimous: I provide a comfortable, safe space for my students to grow in their awareness of themselves and their instrument. My students gain confidence as they polish their technique, and I have coached several high school students through the audition process and on to their undergraduate music program. They report being extremely well prepared, impressing their new voices teachers with their solid technical foundation and basic repertoire knowledge. I also have experience with adult students who have said their lessons are the best part of their week, a stress reliever, and the best thing they have done for themselves. Eva and her family recently relocated to the Northeast so her husband could pursue a Ph.D. in theological ethics at Boston College. Eva now sings with the Marsh Chapel Choir at Boston University and teaches near Cumberland, RI.
