As a professional bassoonist, I've enjoyed a versatile career both performing and teaching! I received my bachelors degree from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, PA, and my masters degree from Rice University in Houston, TX. I've enjoyed working and playing with some of the leading symphonic and opera orchestras around the country, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the San Diego Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Sarasota Opera, among others. I taught private lessons, masterclasses, and coached ensembles t throughout the Greater Houston Area for two years before moving to California, and I'm currently building my private bassoon studio here in San Diego, while currently serving as bassoon instructor at the University of San Diego. Students can expect a solid approach to fundamentals, reeds, and music-making. I like to keep things fun and challenging, and will frequently play duets to develop ensemble skills. Whether you're a beginner, enthusiastic amateur, or have dreams of playing bassoon professionally, I have the skills to get you where you need to go and to develop your musicianship.
