Hello! I'm Ethan, a graduate of the Florida State University College of Music. I hold a B.A. in Commercial Music, and am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Music Therapy. For the last five years, I have been teaching high school music classes and private music lessons in Denver, Colorado, and am now happily returning to Tallahassee to help students of any age wanting to learn music! I have 17+ years experience playing guitar in numerous bands, 13+ years singing in professional choral ensembles and taking private voice lessons, and 13+ years of practical and scholarly study of tonal music theory (which makes up virtually all of contemporary popular music). I am classically trained in voice, guitar, and piano am well-versed in a variety of popular styles such as rock, metal, punk, folk, indie, hip-hop and country. I could offer you a steady curriculum, with routine scale patterns and musical exercises coinciding with music you love to perform. I could also encourage the student in whatever specific musical aspects they wish to learn on a play-it-by-ear pace, to gradually develop a genuine love and appreciation for your instrument. Either way, fun is first! Virtual lessons for Beginning-to-Advanced levels are offered for $40/hr, with a free 30-min intro lesson to teach about music technology and virtual conferencing.
