Express yourself! Learn to use your voice as a natural, comfortable instrument to express your creativity. Students will learn how to expand their vocal range, increase vocal projection, power and agility, how to read notation and phrasing, how to read and sing in foreign languages, how to access the power of breathing, how to act and deliver a song's message, how to audition for musical and theatre opportunities, and how to stay calm under performance pressure. Bring in scene studies or choose appropriate monologue material, and learn to deliver your scenes with emotion and connection.

About Erin R.

HELLO SINGERS!
I am a passionate voice professional of over 12 years and LOVE helping young singers discover their voices! I specialize in working with kids and teens who are interested in learning the classical foundations of singing and musicianship, while having tons of FUN! (Adults also welcome!)

LESSON CONTENT:
I follow a well-rounded singing curriculum that includes voice skills as well as musical theory that is critical for young singers:
--Physical and vocal warm ups
--Exercises targeted to building vocal technique
--Ear training
--Theory (reading musical notation and how it applies to singing)
--Developing a portfolio of performance-ready songs that vary in genre, style and difficulty.
--Optional: song writing, acting skills for performance, beginner piano for supporting singing, audition prep, working with accompanist.
--Students will need to purchase theory books, exercise books and sheet music (in addition to lesson fees).
--In order to figure out their true strengths as a vocalist, students are required to study a broad range of repetoire, including classical, musical theatre, pop, rock, jazz, originally written material, plus other genres of students' interest.

BOOKING LESSONS:
--I work with students ages 5 and up. 5 year old students must be able to read fully in order to participate in lessons.
--I offer 45 or 60 minute voice lessons, even for younger children. I want to see my singers make progress, and we need ample time to do so. The 30 minute option is for piano students only.
--If you are interested in piano lessons, I teach 30 minute beginners lessons, and will follow the Bastien method series.
--Students may book a 60 minute lesson and spend half on singing and half on piano.
--If you are curious about lesson length and logistics, please use the "ask a question" function to discuss with me before booking.

WHY VOICE LESSONS FOR KIDS AND TEENS?
--Proven to improve math and reading scores in academic testing.
--Develops creative and strategic thinking skills
--Lays foundation for other instrumental study in the future.
--Prepare for auditions, school productions or talent shows
--Improve self confidence in front of peers and groups.
--Try a new hobby and have fun!

Erin is a fabulous voice coach. Not only does she have a beautiful voice but her passion for music flows through her teaching. She is encouraging and positive, building both confident and strong singers.

Erin took the and care to educate me on every aspect of the art of singing/voice (posture, breathing techniques, importance of facial muscles, head voice/chest voice, vocal health etc.) In just 5 lessons (45 minutes each) my voice has grown beyond even my expectations with Erin's guidance.

You will be extremely happy if you choose Erin as a voice coach. She is affordable, easy going and knows how to produce results!

Erin did a great job of assessing my wants and needs from my lessons. She took notes and then jumped in to her initial teaching. She is energetic and made the lesson fun.

Erin is a terrific teacher! She has tailored her teaching to our 13th year old daughter's interests, specifically musicals. In addition, she is giving her a foundation in musical theory. We have seen our daughter's singing and level of confidence improve steadily. We happily recommend her.

Erin has been an amazing instructor so far! I bought a package of 5 classes and will most definitely be buying more asap!

To say I had some work to do in improving my speaking voice and tonality would be a huge understatement, but I have seen awesome progress in only 3 classes with Erin! I look forward to these lessons every week because Erin keeps the classes fun and relaxed! She also makes you feel comfortable to try new things with your voice and really pushes your limits (in the best way possible).

She has already helped me tremendously with my breath, tonality and just generally being aware of how I use my voice. If you are in sales (like me) and want to sound better on the phone or in front of clients --- TAKE HER CLASSES! She will absolutely help you achieve your goals

Maximum Kudos. Greatly exceeded expectations. Erin knowledgeably explains complex concepts thoroughly and in terms I could easily understand--and put to use. She diligently follows up each lesson with a complete recap of topics as well as helpful exercises to prepare for the next lesson. At the initial lesson Erin immediately discerned several basic voice characteristics on which I could work. I have complete trust in her and unreservedly recommend Erin to anyone wishing to improve their speaking voice.
