    About Erick B.

*** Lesson Details *** I have 17 years of music teaching experience and I have learned how to explain what seems "complicated" in the most effective and simple manner. My philosophy is that music must make us happy. We have to enjoy the process of learning, practicing, and performing music. We have to make it fun in order to make it work for the student and the audience. I keep an inner child alive whenever I play and teach because it is my way to channel the purest feelings through my fingers and my instrument. I learned classical music with teachers in music conservatories parallel to my own "by ear method" playing dozens of pop songs from the radio. That means that I am very flexible when it comes to teaching methods. I am happy teaching popular songs along with what's called "the traditional piano books." I'm not a purist. I love Beethoven's music as much as Maroon 5's music. It's all beautiful to me. I can teach piano, guitar, music theory, music recording and production, and composition. *** Studio Equipment *** Upright 48" acoustic piano PETROF. Yamaha P-60 88 weighted keys digital piano Takamene steal string acoustic guitar Takamene nylon string classical guitar Gibson Les Paul electric guitar G&L electric guitar iMac Pro *** Specialties *** I specialize in classical and pop music. I use various methods such as Bastien, Thompson, Czerny, Hanon, as well as ear training, and playing by ear approach, and always tailor my lessons to my students.

    A Place Called Home

I had the pleasure of working as Music Teacher for the non-profit organization, A Place Called Home, in South Central Los Angeles. General Music Work Summary

    Erick B. Co.

I've had the fortune to have worked in various musical areas such as live performances, recordings, production and composition. I have composed music for TV shows, short films, and documentaries. I love classical music as much as I love pop, rock, jazz, and electronics. I have an associate in arts from Miami Dade College, a bachelors in music from Florida International University, studies in film scoring and music production from Berklee College of Music online, and many hours of private instruction from orchestrators, composers, pianists, and music producers. I have also performed pop, rock, and Latin music in parties, restaurants, festivals in front of 10,000 people as well as for the bartender and the door man and 3 strangers. I love music and every experience is unique. When I'm not working in music I'm watching comedy and eating pizza.
