I am a former science teacher and currently a multi-subject tutor; I tutor arithmetic, Algebra I and II, calculus, chemistry, college algebra, pre-calculus, physics, and beginning Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. My favorite part about working with students is getting to the point where they understand concepts and have a resulting confidence boost.
I firmly believe in working on something until the student understands it very well or masters it; we work on that one thing "until" rather than focus on the completion rate, though both are important. I've tutored mathematics for the past six years and have expanded my repertoire to include various elementary, middle school, high school, and even college level subjects.
I began private tutoring in algebra as a side job and grew it to be a multi-subject endevor and my main source of income.
I began as a temporary High-Dosage Algebra tutor and earned a full-time position after less than semester of working there.
I started at Southwest Preparatory School as a Math Lab Instructor and Substitute Teacher and later became a chemistry, physics, and environmental systems teacher.
I worked with students from ages three to high school aged in mathematics ranging from basic counting and arithmetic to algebra.

· Basic Math · In home I could select many adjectives or adverbs to describe the quality of Erica's pedagogy, but here are some that come to mind quickly: knowledgeable, patient, professional, dedicated and attentive. She comes to work prepared, and works with your child where he or she is. Whether your goal is after school tutoring for your public or private school student or supplemental tutoring for your home schooler, Erica is without question one of the best tutors in Austin.
She tutors my two home school students, ages 7 and 9 in basic math, and reading and writing skills. My kids like her.
· Pre Calculus · In studio Erika is great at giving me approaches to understand how to work my physics problems. It helps to have a different explanation than my teacher's in class, and to have her point out the mistakes I am making. She has really helped improve my grade and test scores, especially on my AP test.
