Flute with Emmaline W.

Hi my name is Emmaline and I am a junior studying music education at New York University. I have 15 years of experience playing the flute, both as a soloist and in different bands and chamber groups. I believe what really drew me to studying music education was the joyful pride I found in tutoring students to help them grasp a new concept, interpret it in their own unique way, and use that new knowledge in a practical way. The confidence and satisfaction that students gain once they understand something new is, to me, is the definition of success. In my music lessons, we will work on basic music theory (reading notes, playing rhythmn), build up a fun repertoire of favorite music (could include Disney songs, pop music, a video game theme song, you name it!), and how to put all those new skills into practice. I hope to make lessons into a team activity where we can both learn and benefit from music-making. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
