Learn to play the flute with lessons from an experienced musician

I have been playing the flute for nine years and the piccolo for two and have been in a variety of bands and orchestras. I currently play in Montana Technological University's pep and concert bands and intend to audition for the Butte Symphony Orchestra when they resume rehearsals. In high school, I placed first chair in my school's audition band my Senior year, placed second chair in the audition band my Junior year, participated in the non-audition band, was handpicked by my director to play flute and piccolo for our school's musical, was a marching band section leader for two consecutive years, and occasionally played with the school's orchestra and choir. I find playing music to be incredibly peaceful and relaxing, as well as enjoyable, fun, and exciting! I would love to be able to pass on some of my knowledge to you so that we're able to have fun together! I do best with teaching beginners and intermediate-level students in a patient and goal-oriented environment. During our first lesson, we will evaluate how much you know already as well as discuss what you would like to work on (pieces, technical concepts, etc.).

    About Emma P.

Hello! My name is Emma and I'm a Freshman at Montana Technological University studying Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. I aim to graduate with a Bachelor of Science alongside two minors–one in Materials Science and the other in Mathematics. I consider myself to be a very energetic, patient, and kind teacher, and am always ready to learn something new! During every lesson, I want to ensure that my student feels comfortable with the material covered. I believe that education is important because it allows us to develop opinions about the world around us, shaping our morals, personality, and choices. A well-informed decision is the best one that a person can make. Some of my hobbies include playing the flute and piccolo, playing with my three dogs and three cats, volunteering, creating art, and reading. If you have any questions for me, please don't hesitate to reach out! I can't wait to start working with you!
