“I am here to encourage, challenge, and support you in a welcoming, safe environment. You have a voice in you and I will help you develop the skills and the confidence to find it!” Emily Workman is a dynamic teacher and a proven performer. She has been coaching singers and beginner/intermediate pianists for more than a decade. In that time, her students have toured the world, performed on Broadway, won awards, and entered prestigious music schools such as Indiana University and Brigham Young University. She has taught and directed vocal and piano music programs across 2 states, 7 schools, and their local communities with over 200 participants, grades 7 - university level. She has been a guest speaker and workshop facilitator at locations across the country including Yale University's School of Music in New Haven, CT and Florida State College in Jacksonville, FL. She is a faculty member at Southern Utah University where she teaches voice lessons in the Music department. Hailed by Gramophone for her "shining voice" with "extra depth to the sound," soprano Emily Workman recently sang the role of The Governess in Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw at the Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, Poland. A recording of the premiere was released under the DUX label and was nominated as, "Best Opera Album of 2016," by the International Classical Music Awards. Ms. Workman is a graduate of Yale University's prestigious opera program, where she received her Master of Music. While there, she performed as Antonia in Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann, Zemfira in Rachmaninov's Aleko, the title role in Suor Angelica under the direction of John Dodson with the New Haven Symphony, Countess Almaviva in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Mimì in La Bohème, under the direction of Giuseppe Grazioli, and Mahler's Symphony No. 2 with the Yale Philharmonia. While pursuing her undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University, she sang Fiordiligi in Così fan Tutte, and the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors. Both my daughters take from Emily and they absolutely love her. They come home each week saying that they learned something new. She is great at helping them to push themselves in ways that will help their voices to grow. Plus, they have fun with her and look forward to each lesson.

Really collaborative teacher, she asks what you want to do and helps you immensely with whatever you are working on. Great at finding your strengths, and will always push you to do better. I've had a wonderful time working with her, and have improved greatly.

Emily is such an amazing teacher and really helps you understand what she is trying to get you to do. She is personable and patents every lesson to the student's outcome. Not only have I found a teacher that is helping me improve, but I found a teacher that truly cares about her students.
