My enthusiastic personality, organized nature, and my dedication to a student centered teaching approach has established the foundation upon which my private studio has grown and flourished. I maintain high expectations, while compassionately guiding my students to realize their full potential not only as young musicians, but as confident individuals in their day to day lives.
I have been teaching privately in Cincinnati since 2011, and currently have a private horn studio of over 40 students from the Walnut Hills, Milford, West Clermont, Indian Hill, Madeira, Loveland, and Oak Hills School Districts. I earned my Master's of Music degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati in 2012. I am currently the 4th horn of the Queen City Opera, and have performed with the West Virginia, Kentucky, Springfield, and Richmond Symphonies. I perform regularly with a professional woodwind quintet, The Wayside Winds.
Whether you're interested in being able to play a fun piece you've heard in the movies, wanting to improve your band or orchestra music, or you're determined to be the finest player at your school, I am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals!

My son started in-person lessons with Emily in the fall of 2019. We went online with her during the Covid-19 shutdown. The two of them never missed a beat (music pun intended)! I feel like he has continued to show good growth as a horn player. Emily does a wonderful job of teaching proper technique while using my son's own interests to keep him playing. For example, my 12-year-old is a Pokemon fan, so Emily found Pokemon theme sheet music for the horn as well as video game themes. He really loved that and I appreciate that she knows how to connect with kids to help them learn a challenging instrument. I am thankful that my son's band teacher recommended Emily and I, in turn, wholeheartedly recommended her to any future horn players.

Very helpful! Emily even spent a couple of minutes past the scheduled time to help my daughter during her first lesson! Looking forward to the next lesson!

Emily is a fantastic teacher! Our daughter has progressed a tremendous amount during her time with Emily, and she really enjoys the lessons. If you are looking for a french horn teacher, I highly recommend Emily.

Emily has given lessons to my daughter for many years and she is excellent! We would highly recommend Emily to anyone.

Emily has helped my son improve on his horn. She has worked directly with him (both at school and home) and worked remotely (via video conferencing) and has always been encouraging and helpful. She definitely knows the French horn and also works closely with the music dierctors to provide the best experience possible, keeping my son challenged and enjoying the positive feedback of hard work and a performance well done.

Emily has worked with several of my french horn students at WCHS. She is hands-down the most engaged lesson teacher I've worked with. We dialogue regularly about students' progress and even talk about how to inspire specific students to greater heights. It is always a pleasure to work with Emily!

Emily Toth is one of the very best lessons teachers I have had the opportunity to work with over the years. She is very professional, connects well with kids, cares so much about her students, and collaborates with band directors on a regular basis to help ensure her students are receiving the best overall music education possible. Ms. Toth is a highly qualified French Horn teacher and an outstanding musician. She is very organized and accommodating. She truly wants what’s best for each and every one of her students.

Emily is very kind an patient with students. She not only helps them with learning to play but helps them build self confidence to do better.

Emily is an amazing educator and engages our son in his horn lessons in such a way that he has grown soooo much as a musician in the last two years. Emily has created opportunities for him to see professional Horn players engaging in their craft as well as supported him as he tried new avenues of challenge such as Solo & Ensemble, honor band, and CCM’s youth wind ensemble. We are ever grateful that benji has the privilege of studying with Emily Toth!

Emily is awesome. She’s taught my son for 4 years and he has continually shown growth. She is encouraging and always giving great advice. She cares about him as a person, not just a student. Emily is flexible and easy to communicate with.
