    (18)
Emily M. is a professional actor, singer and dancer and experienced teacher available for online lessons worldwide teaching subjects ranging from voice to yoga and many other fitness and arts classes. Emily has been in the performing arts for over 15 years and teaching for the last 6 years. Extensively trained in voice, dance and acting, Emily attended a high school for the performing arts and graduated from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music with a BFA in Musical Theater. She has trained at various other prestigious institutions including Festival Ballet (Providence, RI), T. Schreiber Studio (NY,NY), HB Studio (NY,NY), Ballet Prestige (Providence, RI), Steps (NY. NY), and Broadway Dance Center (NY,NY) among many others. She is also an experienced yoga teacher. Although trained classically in voice, dance and acting , Emily has developed her own methods of teaching, melding together various techniques that have worked for her. She crafts each lesson with that specific student in mind because she understands that each student is unique and learns in their own way. She strives to enhance her students confidence, creativity and ability through a fun and engaging learning environment. As a professional dancer, fitness is obviously a huge part of Emily's life. She believes that mental and physical health are strongly connect and loves sharing her passion for and knowledge of fitness with her students. With 10+ years of yoga experience, Emily teaches a Yin/Vinyasa Hybrid class -- where she balances stillness and strength with fluidity and movement. Music plays a huge part in her yoga practice. In her fitness classes, you can expect a heavy dance influence, classes being mostly rhythm based and set to fun playlists. Another nice feature that you might enjoy from one on one sessions with Emily is learning the ability to blend together the different performing elements. Acting plays a large part in her voice and dance classes-- as storytelling is the most important thing in any performance genre. Emily strives to be flexible with her students, and she knows that life can get busy! Lessons are organized to best fit to the student'€™s schedule when possible. Emily is always available to her students in between lessons if they have any questions or concerns. It is important to her to build relationships with her students that make them feel comfortable to do their best work and take risks in class. Emily is a very patient and positive instructor and understands that students learn at a different pace, after all everyone is unique. Emily wants her students to leave each class feeling accomplished, proud and yearning for more. She finds teaching to be incredibly rewarding and she truly can't wait to work with you and help you reach your goals.

Emily's background in musical theater is perfect for teaching our 10-year-old daughter! We signed her up for jazz to help her with choreography. We love that Emily teaches routines with Broadway music. She has also been very responsive by email, and Emily tailored our lessons to best fit our daughter.
