I offer online tutoring in Violin, Ear Training, and Music Theory. I am a multifaceted musician with a passion for music education, theory, performance, and the intersection of all three of those areas. As a string teacher, I have taught at Centereach High School, Saint Mary’s School in Cortland, NY, the Northport Summer Music Program, and the NYSSSA School of Orchestral Studies. I also maintain a private studio of beginner-advanced students. I have experience with various teaching methodologies, including rote learning and the Suzuki method. I also have experience coaching chamber ensembles. As a violinist, I have performed in prestigious ensembles such as the Eastman School of Music Philharmonia, the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, and the GRAMMY-nominated National Orchestral Institute Philharmonic. No matter your age or ability level, I will cater my instruction to your specific needs and help you refine your string technique and musicianship. As a music theory and aural skills instructor, I have taught classes at the Eastman School of Music, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and the NYSSSA School of Orchestral Studies. I am also a published author in the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, and am a volunteer tutor on their website. I have experience teaching all levels of theory and aural skills, from fundamentals to post-tonal.
