Emily is a classically trained opera singer with a Bachelor and Masters degree in vocal performance. She recently relocated to the Dayton area from Chicago. She is currently singing with the Dayton Opera as well as the Dayton Philharmonic Chorus.
In Chicago She performed with various opera companies including the Floating Opera Company and the Gilbert and Sullivan opera company. She attended grad school at Depaul University where she had the opportunity to be a soloist in The Fairy Queen, L'Orfeo and The Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute. Outside of Depaul Emily was selected as a soloist for The Messiah as well as a competition finalist for the Sinfonietta Bel Canto Competition. Most recently she played the Five Year Old in Milton Granger's The Proposal and Top Bottom in The Quantum Mechanic.
Emily would love the opportunity to teach you lessons in classical singing or provide audition prep for those needing help for college or grad school auditions! She would also love to chat with anyone about next steps for employment in the performance world!
In addition to Voice lessons she teaches beginner violin as well. She began studying the violin at the age of 10 and played all the way through college. She learned through a mix of Suzuki and Essential Elements technique books which she now uses with her own students.
Emily was very good. Very patient with Caleb. He said he liked the lesson.
