I have been playing the piano since I was around 5 years old. My parents like to tell a story - they found me as a toddler one day, sitting by my little plastic Fisher Price toy piano, playing and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The rest, as they say, is history - Mom & Dad promptly and proudly signed their mini Mozart up for piano lessons, and here I am today. Slaying.
In 2012, I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an A.A. in Music under the guidance of pianist Dr. Suzan Park, and later graduated from George Mason University with my B.A in Music (Fall 2015). While there, I had the opportunity to study under renowned pianists Dr. Anna Balakerskaia and Dr. Linda Apple Monson. As of January 2019, I completed my Master's program in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing. Queen Latifah was the keynote speaker at my commencement that summer, which was basically the highlight of my educational career. Now, I am blessed to be able to follow my dream and run my studio full-time.
I began teaching professionally in 2010. Emily Elizabeth Piano Studio was founded in 2015, and I added voice lessons in 2016.
I also have a 4 year old daughter, who is the coolest person I have ever met.
In my free time, of which there is very little, I like to clean my house (I seriously do, it's almost an obsession), play with my tiny human, run, bake, and paint. Oh, and play the piano, of course!

My daughter is stubborn and cannot concentrate on one thing for long time, but somehow Emily finds a way to keep her busy and concentrated for half an hour. I'm learning from Emily how to teach my daughter at home and keep her motivated. I'm sure we will continue the lessons in the fall.

Emily does a great job communicating with my 6 year old daughter at a level she can understand. What I like most about Emily is that she doesn't get stuck on one thing. If she tries an exercise or technique that my daughter doesn't get, she moves onto something else until she finds what works for my daughter. Great teacher!

Emily is an awesome piano teacher! She motivates yet does not intimidate. She helps lay a strong foundation in theory which will help the student as they grow and even play other instruments. She has been very accommodating with scheduling when a conflict occurs. The spring recital this year was a highlight for our family and a confidence booster for our child.

Emily has been wonderful for my 6 year old daughter who tends to fidget, play truant, and all around a hard to teach kid. Somehow she's able to keep her on task and improving in both playing and reading notes. She made lessons fun and engaging while keeping things on track of the lesson plans. Definitely, Emily made a difference for my child and we are grateful to her for being such a good teacher.

Emily relates very well with my 15 year old daughter (student). Emily is enthusiastic, patient, and displays a good sense of humor. You never feel that she is rushing the lesson. Instead she is committed to the teaching process. My daughter looks forward to her lessons. We consider Emily a keeper.
