I made myself available at set times each week to struggling students in beginner and intermediate courses. I also allowed students to set up extra meetings outside of my set hours to help them prepare for exams.

As an independent contractor I taught the middle and high school Japanese elective courses at Angles Academy, a private academy whose philosophy is that all children can learn and whose mission is to prove that with small classes and individualized teaching strategies.

A former teacher of mine referred a struggling high-school student of his to me. The student was ADD and had missed several classes due to illness. My job was to teach him the Greek he should have been learning in class to prepare him to rejoin his classmates in the following school-year.

I made myself available as needed to all levels of current Japanese students to help with homework, exam preparation, and study strategies. I was also occasionally asked by a teacher to teach a student who had, due to injury, illness, etc., missed too many classes to continue without extra help. My job in that case was to teach all the language which the student had missed and prepare them to continue with their classmates.
