Welcome! I'm here to make your musical journey rewarding, joyful, and exciting! I have a master's degree in viola performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and I've taught private violin and viola lessons to children and adults for three years. I am so glad that you're here, and I look forward to working together! I welcome violin students of all ages, and I am especially eager to work with beginning violinists. I'll work with you at a pace that's comfortable for you, and we'll tailor the lessons to your goals. I'll help you discover and enhance your musical strengths, understanding, imagination, and creativity. Together, we'll turn difficult musical passages into opportunities for growth in a patient, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere. We'll work as a team so that you can become the musician you want to be! You're welcome to bring any repertoire you like to our lessons. If you wish, we can use method books, and I'm happy to provide repertoire as needed. I can help you with etudes, technical exercises, and posture as well. At our first meeting, we can chat about your musical goals and plans. As your goals and plans evolve, we'll make adjustments so that the lessons grow with you, meeting you where you are and taking you where you want to go. At the end of each lesson, we'll spend time reviewing. You can ask any questions you have, and you'll leave feeling happy, motivated, and with a clear understanding of what to do next!
About Emily F.

Hi, and thanks so much for visiting my page! I am excited to meet you! I'm available for online violin and viola lessons on weekdays and weekends. You can book me for 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120-minute lessons. As a child, I started my musical journey with violin, and I switched to viola a few years later. I've been playing viola for 30 years, and I have bachelor's and master's degrees in viola performance. I received my master's degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in the UK. I've performed in summer orchestra programs in Belgium and Italy, and I work as a freelance violist with orchestras in North Carolina. I have three years of violin and viola teaching experience, and I've taught children and adults, including individuals with special needs. I'm happy to teach all ages and all learning stages. I view myself as a partner in your learning process, and I'm a friendly and patient teacher. No matter where you are in your musical journey, I'll meet you where you are and help you reach your goals with encouragement and understanding. We will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Having taken online music lessons myself, I understand the differences between learning music online and learning in person. I will make your online learning experience just as effective, rewarding, and enjoyable as an in-person lesson. You can bring any repertoire that you like to our lessons, and I can help you with etudes, technical exercises, and posture, too. If you like, we can use method books, and I am happy to provide repertoire for you if you wish. In addition, I can help you with memorizing pieces and with preparing for recitals and concerts. Please feel free to contact me with questions any time!
