    About Emilio M.

www.emiliomesa.com Emilio Mesa is an active musician in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, pushing creative boundaries and reaching out to his audiences through his organic approach to saxophone and composition. Mesa is an alumnus of the prestigious University of North Texas, where he completed his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and minor in Music Theory, studied with Brad Leali, and performed/recorded with the Two O’Clock Lab Band. At UNT, Mesa performed in several ensembles, ranging from standard big band repertoire and straight-ahead jazz playing to varying types of jazz fusion ensembles. Mesa also served as a UNT College of Music Ambassador, where he was able to share his enthusiasm and gratitude for his alma mater by speaking with prospective students and showing them around the college. Mesa maintains a studio of about 30 middle and high school students and has been a faculty member of the annual jazz camp sponsored by Olivas Music and the El Paso Friends of Jazz since 2013.
