Alternative Medicine with Emi O.

I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada by Japanese parents. I was privileged with different kinds of learning opportunities including piano, Japanese language, ice skating, ballet, skiing and martial arts. After high school I attended university where I majored in Piano performance. Over the last 10 years I have tutored all ages for piano and Japanese and learned how to be patient, persistent and to just be able to adjust and accommodate to different kinds of learning styles and abilities. I realized that it’s important to have a structure in your teaching styles and have clear expectations, standards and goals. Making certain modifications to your teaching styles along the way is crucial as well to meet individual student needs. I believe in setting high standards for students is an important way to get them to rise to their potential. In my free time I love to go on a short hike, explore new restaurants or see a live music show.
