About Em S.
I’m a friendly 28 year old ukulele playing Anthropologist. I started studying anthropology in high school, and instantly fell in love. On this decade long journey I have been fortunate enough to work in all four subfeilds. Some of the jobs I’ve had as an anthropologist include: cultural resource management, coroner’s office, teaching at a university, running an archaeology lab, being a research assistant in a biological evolutionary lab, teaching chemistry, teaching Italian/Spanish, preserving art for the Vatican, SHPO/THPO and much much more. I’ve worked in field schools all over the world, starting as a shovel bum, and working my way up to preservation work. My current research is looking at the degradation of prehistoric Mesoamerican mural pigments.
My ukulele journey is just as varied. I am a self taught player who enjoys all the different styles of playing. I truly believe that anyone can learn to play the ukulele.
