I am a math teacher that graduated with my Bachelors in Mathematics as well as my MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from Sam Houston State University. In my time in teaching I have learned that the most important thing when it comes to helping students gain confidence in math is establishing positive relationships with them and their parents. In my classroom we start by focusing on trust and social-emotional learning. In our beginning tutoring lessons you can expect for us to start with basics math skills and getting to know ourselves a little bit more so I can understand your learning style. I like to make my lessons relatable and accessible to my students. I am a strong believer that math is a skill and there is no such thing as "not a math person." I love to help kids feel confident and comfortable in math so they can acquire the skills to be successful in other math courses as well as apply those problem solving and critical thinking skills to every day life.
