My goals for my students are to help them grow in enjoyment, appreciation and performance of music. I will create a learning plan for each student and help them succeed.
I am a general music teacher in Chicago, I have been teaching for four years and am ready to get back into giving lessons. I have a degree in Music Education and am currently working towards my Masters of Music Education. I spent four years in the Notre Dame Marching Band and have taught piano lessons as well as flute lessons during my time as a college student. I enjoy teaching and hope to spread the love of music to everyone.
I direct an elementary choir as well as an elementary and middle school musical theater program. I vocal coach for a theater in Grand Rapids for two weeks every summer.

Taught free flute lessons to students who had no band. This was a great way to be involved in the community and teach students the beginning steps for the flute.
Taught 3 Months of group piano lessons to elementary aged children. We used Alfred's Basic Piano and worked on a well rounded education of piano.
I am certified to teach general music (theory and ear training) for grades k-12. I am also certified to teach choir for grades k-12.
Great with kids and they like her as well.
Miss Ellen is great! She has exceptional technical and artistic knowledge of the flute and piccolo, and works very well with students of all ages and abilities. She wants her students succeed, and makes learning fun! Ellen's experience as a soloist, Symphonic Band and Orchestra member, Marching Band piccolo section leader, and Elementary School teacher makes her a great choice for a private or group instructor.+ Read More
