Jane Winfield, a Seattle native, lives and works in Richmond, Virginia. She received her MFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and her BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University. Since then, she has taught painting at the College of Charleston and VCU. She has exhibited in group shows along the East Coast and abroad. Recently, Winfield has displayed her work at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music in the group exhibition, “The Complexities of Unity,” and presented her solo show “Signs of Life” at the SCAD Museum of Art. Winfield is a 2017 Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship and grant recipient for Painting and her work is currently on view at the VMFA in Richmond, Virginia in her solo show, “Next Door Neighbor.”

Elizabeth was such an encouraging and helpful teacher. She’s an amazing artist and seeing her work and her demos was SO inspiring! I learned so much from her, not just about drawing but about learning a new way to see and think about the world around me. I highly recommend her!!!
