Welcome to my piano studio! I graduated from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. My B.M. is in both Piano Performance and Music Education. And although I am an experienced teacher of 30 years I have an enthusiastic approach to teaching and am always looking for ways to enhance my teaching style, which often includes educational apps and other programs, new methods, and off the bench activities. I regularly attend educational workshops and classes to stay at the top of my piano teaching game! I love teaching students of all ages. My teaching schedule is booked at my local studio, but you can benefit from online openings during the morning hours! My goal for all students is music-learning through the piano, but that is just the beginning! I help you embark on a journey that will take you to a lifetime of enjoyment of the instrument. I am not the teacher who will get you started and then send you elsewhere as you advance. I love starting brand new beginners AND honing skills of advanced veterans of the piano. I focus on technique and sound, which involves truly listening and playing with attention to detail, and enjoying all that the instrument has to offer even the youngest player. Every student will be able to pursue their own unique interests in piano in addition to learning the basics. Some students have focused on composition, playing by ear, chords and improvising, classical music, popular music, and worship.

I would recommend Elizabeth Swift as a piano teacher. Not only has she helped my beginning piano student learn the mechanics of playing, Elizabeth calls her attention to playing musically. In this way, she creates a well-rounded piano player. Elizabeth has a great rapport with my daughter. She is able to motivate her to practice by setting realistic goals and providing age appropriate rewards. My daughter has commented that what she likes best about Mrs. Swift is that she believes in her. Elizabeth tells her that she can play a certain piece and this gives her the confidence to see it through. When my daughter plays piano for our friends and family they always think she has been taking lessons longer than she has. Elizabeth has encouraged my daughter's interest in composing pieces even though she has only been playing a short time. Elizabeth also provides the students ample opportunities to play for others including parties with the students, community music evaluations, and recitals. She even has them play duets with other students. The exposure to these different playing situations has helped my daughter build her confidence and versatility. Thanks to Elizabeth, it is truly a pleasure for me to listen to my daughter play.

My daughter has been taking piano from Elizabeth for six years. In that time, Elizabeth has not just taught her to be a better piano player, but she has instilled in her a love of music and the confidence to take on playing pieces in front of large groups. We're thrilled with what she has accomplished and appreciate Elizabeth's ability to draw the best out of each student no matter where they are in terms of talent or ability. In our daughter's words: "She isn't just worried about whether or not I practice. She cares about me as a person. I like that I get to help pick which pieces I play so I'm always motivated to practice them."

Elizabeth Swift is a gifted pianist and teacher. She understands the unique needs of each student and tailors lessons to encourage growth, musicality, and confidence. Her approach both encourages and challenges students to be their best. Students are provided opportunities to showcase growing skills in solo and duet recitals, and adjudicated events. I have witnessed Elizabeth's students progress from beginning to advanced levels over the years and am always inspired. I am a music educator and parent of two students in Elizabeth's studio - I highly recommend her! Holly Schreier Mason Middle School Choral Director
