Eliza is a professional ballet dancer and teacher based in New York City.

She is a native of Massachusetts and studied at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, spending summers at Boston Ballet School, School of American Ballet, and Miami City Ballet School. She began her professional career after high school, accepting an apprenticeship at Charlotte Ballet, and then at Richmond Ballet. In Richmond, Eliza had the opportunity to choreograph, and was inspired to move to New York City to become a more versatile artist. She continued to dance professionally with Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance and Buggé Ballet while completing her BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Since graduating, Eliza has had many incredible professional experiences. Some of the most memorable include touring The Nutcracker and Cinderella with New York Theatre Ballet, dancing the Sugar Plum Fairy in Artisan Dance Company's The Nutcracker, performing in The Sleeping Beauty with American Ballet Theatre at the Metropolitan Opera House, and participating in Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance's residency at Kaatsbaan International Dance Center. In December 2016, Eliza performed as a demi-soloist in the premiere production of Brooklyn Ballet's The Brooklyn Nutcracker at Brooklyn Museum, and in January 2017 she was a featured dancer in Secondary Dominance, an original opera which premiered at HERE Arts Center as part of the 2017 Prototype Festival. Eliza also interned at ABT's Jacquelyn Kennedy Onassis School, and subsequently completed the ABT® National Training Curriculum in Levels Pre-Primary through Level 5.

Eliza is very grateful for the professional experiences she has had so far. As she continues to dance professionally and teach ballet to dancers of all ages and levels, she looks forward to expanding her horizons by pursuing many more versatile opportunities.

Not only is Eliza a certified teacher, but she is very insightful and genuinely cares about your goals. She has given great tips and suggestions to help me improve both in and out of her class.

Since I started taking lessons with her about 5 months ago, I've seen a lot of improvement. She makes sure that you work hard every single class and she doesn't let you get away with not doing your best. Also, she has been working with me on fixing the bad habits I never knew I had before she pointed them out. Moreover, she is very observant and tailors each class to work on the things she sees you struggling with, even if you don't realize it yourself that you are having trouble. Eliza has taught me so much and I'm sure that anyone would benefit from taking her class.

Elizabeth is very attentive of your individual needs. I take her class when I feel I hit enough walls from the public classes I'm taking and need someone experienced to guide me personally and answer all the confusions I have. She helped me find my proper hip move and body alignment for my pirouette and also helped me get started on pointe work. I'm now accessed and approved by the Joffery ballet school teacher to join its beginner pointe class, which I'm really excited about.

Eliza is an absolutely amazing ballet teacher! I've worked with her for the past several months and have gone from the most basic of beginners (no previous dance experience at all!) to being able to leap and chasse and feel like a ballerina! She is extremely knowledgeable and patient, and has a great way of communicating techniques and concepts. Her lessons are fun and challenging, a great mix of reinforcing technique and learning new skills. The studio space is fabulous too - very comfortable and lots of room. Highly recommend her for any type of ballet lessons!

Ballet classes with Elizabeth are both fun and challenging.

The way she explains things are great. I have learned several new things about ballet and my own foundation by only a few lessons.

I highly recommend her private ballet classes.

Eliza is a wonderful, knowledgeable, and patient ballet teacher. She has taught company class for my professional ballet company, and was well received by the other dancers. Her classes are technical and she adapts to the level of dancers in the studio. I would highly recommend Eliza for a ballet teacher in a private or group setting.

I have trained ballet at different studios and with different teaches for the past few years, until I finally met Elizabeth. She is an amazing dancer, with plenty of knowledge and experience.

I truly enjoy her classes, which are very demanding, fun and helpful. Elizabeth is an incredible hands-on teacher, who breaks down techniques and movements in a very granular and understandable way.

Elizabeth helped me discover things about my body and ballet techniques in a way that no other teacher has done in the past.

After only a few classes with her, I was able to finally understand and perform techniques that had always appeared difficult to me, such as executing double pirouettes. Now I can finally do it and I’m thrilled about it!

I cannot express all my gratitude to Elizabeth. I highly recommend her classes if you are really interested in mastering the fundamentals of ballet.

I am so glad that I found Elizabeth as an instructor. She is very knowledgeable, has great technique, and is extremely fun to work with.

As an adult beginner, I found some of the ballet classes in the city very intimidating. I decided to sign up and take ballet lessons with Elizabeth and she has really helped me to improve form, flexibility, and working knowledge of the different ballet terms.

Here are some of the traits in her instruction which I really find helpful:

Patience - Elizabeth is extremely patient and will spend the time to make sure you understand concepts and technique. It's so refreshing to see how positive she is and it makes me only want to work even harder. Also, she is always making sure you are doing things to prevent injury.

Knowledge / Technique - Elizabeth is a great dancer. She is very knowledgeable of the French terms used in ballet as well as very technical in terms of form. She gives positive corrections and will usually help guide you through the different combinations. In addition, she will ask to make sure you are comfortable before moving onto something new. This goes back to her patience and her goal of really making sure you understand everything.

FUN! - Elizabeth is so fun! Time flies by so fast in this class. I almost can't get enough! It's also great because she dances with you and works with you through some of the combinations. Again, she's super positive so I'm really comfortable working with her and asking for clarification.

Fitness - It's really important that people practice what they preach and Elizabeth is no exception. She's very fit as a dancer and you can tell this is what she has been doing for a long time. It's also really great motivation to see how strong she is!

Comfort - I think something that is often overlooked in terms of instruction is actually how comfortable you feel in the class and with the instructor. Her private lessons are really tailored to you and she will work with you through whatever goals you would like.

Overall five stars! Since taking private lessons with her, I really can't think of a better person to work with since she is extremely fun, helpful, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her to someone who really wants to learn ballet or someone who is already a dancer but wants to improve their technique.
