Taught five sections of high school woodwind lessons daily, focusing on scale memorization, method book materials, NYSSMA solos, and band literature. Taught all sixth grade instrumental band lessons daily, focusing on correct instrument pedagogy, scale memorization, excerpts from Standard of Excellence method books, and NYSSMA solos. Rehearsed and conducted both the high school Concert Band and the sixth grade band every other day, incorporating Common Core Standards into rehearsals.

Sherman Central School District

Instructed fifth through twelfth grade instrumental band lessons daily, using Standard of Excellence as the primary method book for younger students and focusing on band literature and NYSSMA solos with the older students. Rehearsed and conducted the Junior High and High School Bands every other day using Common Core standards and SMARTboard technology to enhance lesson plans. Taught AP Music Theory online through Erie 2 BOCES to eight students attending schools across Chautauqua County using Moodle while incorporating Common Core Standards into lessons.

New Horizons Band of New York at Fredonia State University

Taught group lessons to amateur and retired musicians of ages 50 and older, focusing on building small ensemble skills, enforcing correct instrument pedagogical skills, and learning band literature. Arranged small ensemble pieces to use as teaching tools during group lessons

NYSMTA is dedicated to furthering the art of music and promoting the growth and professional development of its members. It seeks to enhance the educational and performance expertise in all areas of music teaching, including performance, pedagogy, theory, and composition. In addition to the Annual Conference, Local Associations throughout the state sponsor musical and educational events of specific interest to those in their communities.

The National Flute Association, founded in 1972, is the largest flute organization in the world. Approximately 5,000 members from more than 50 countries join together in person, online, at conventions, informally and in forums, through publications and classrooms, in performance, in friendship and collegiality. Guided by its goals to encourage a higher standard of artistic excellence for the flute, its performers, and its literature, members include leading soloists, orchestral players, jazz and world music performers, teachers, adult amateurs, and students of all ages.
