Hi there! I am a classically trained, professional trombone player, ukulele player and songwriter and film composer working in New York City. I've been helping my students achieve their musical goals for 5 years! It's important to me that my students have a strong technical foundation that allows them to have fun and make beautiful music. From my lessons, you can expect to grow your skills as an overall musician, as well as in your specific lesson subject. Elizabeth is a great teacher. I am very impressed with how she continues to move my child forward with learning to play without my daughter really even knowing it. She is very patient with her and also goes with the flow. If my daughter wants to spontaneously create a new song Elizabeth will go with it and even create a chart so they can play it properly. Very much looking forward to continuing more lessons with Elizabeth and watching my daughter grow with her.

Elizabeth is a very patient teacher. I wanted to take a few lessons on Ukulele so I could get a practical proficiency before a recent trip to Hawaii with family and friends. She was very patient and understanding with my beginner level, but I could tell that she has the ability to teach those with more ability than I have as well. The way she described how I should approach the instrument from a technique perspective was very clear and efficient, and when she would demonstrate chords and exercises she always played so beautifully. I felt as though I genuinely improved at every lesson. Not to mention her flexibility in finding time scheduling our lesson, and all around friendly and positive attitude. I could not recommend Elizabeth more.

Born and raised just outside of Philadelphia, PA Elizabeth Phillipson-Weiner is a composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a passion for storytelling through music. Experienced in a wide variety of genres, Elizabeth loves to connect with filmmakers and the collaborative art of film scoring. Her music combines unique synth sounds with organic instruments to create bespoke sound palates for each project. Her scores have premiered in films at the Tribeca Film Festival, Hollyshorts, Urbanworld Film Festival and Raindance. As a composer, Elizabeth works in a wide array of mediums including theatre, ad music, and folk music. She’s written the music for everything from non-profit campaigns to congressional campaigns. She is currently scoring a feature film directed by Stacey Maltin for Besties Make Movies. Elizabeth is a recipient of the 2020 - 2021 Alan Menken Scholarship. In 2018, Elizabeth partnered with the innovative non-profit, Emily’s Entourage, to turn her debut single into a fundraising and awareness campaign to fight rare mutations of Cystic Fibrosis. The song, “Anyway” is performed by two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes (Grease, Cinderella, Bandstand), Gideon Glick (Spring Awakening, Significant Other), Christy Altomare (Mamma Mia, Anastasia), Javier Muñoz (In The Heights, Hamilton) and Sarah Levy (Netflix’s Schitt’s Creek). Elizabeth released her debut folk album Summer 2019. She also maintains an active freelance life as a trombonist, ukulele player, and music educator. Elizabeth is Brooklyn based and is obsessed with her adorable dog, Schuyler.
