Hi students! I'm glad to meet you here. I'm a classically trained mezzo-soprano with a masters in opera from Peabody Conservatory. I currently serve on the voice faculty at California School of the Arts San Gabriel Valley, and I've sung with the Baltimore, San Diego, and Santa Barbara opera choruses. I believe that singing is equal parts healthy technique and heart! Whether you are a beginner or a pro, it's my job to meet you where you are. Together we will strengthen your physicality and dig deeper into the music you love.

I took voice lessons from Elizabeth Kerstein for several months. She helped me with difficult portions of compositions I was working on for two different choirs. This was my first experience with voice lessons but I have always loved singing and have participated in a few choirs in the past. Elizabeth helped me with some basic instructions such as posture, position of the head while singing, keeping the eyes open, lip trills and scales to aid in my lung capacity and pitch. She taught me to relax the shoulders and arms while singing and helped me with difficult phrasing in specific compositions. Elizabeth was always cheerful, kind, patient and very helpful. I highly recommend her as a voice teacher and I had the opportunity to hear her sing. She has a beautiful voice and stage presence.

We love Ms. Kerstein! Wonderful, encouraging instructor who is organized and proactive. She offers excellent technique that keeps my 12-year old daughter’s voice safely progressing and maintains a positive environment that keeps my daughter loving music and looking forward to her singing lessons! We highly recommend!
