I have been working with children for over 15 years. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Southern California and have experience performing in plays and music concerts at multiple venues, including the Los Angeles Convention Center. In 2009, I recorded and produced a CD of some of my original songs. I have performance experience in multiple musical genres, including (but not limited to) musical theatre, jazz, classical, country, gospel, and pop/contemporary. I am a licensed and ordained Minister of Music through ICCM (International Congress of Churches & Ministers). I play acoustic guitar for a worship band that travels across the United States to many different churches. My mission is to provide the best music education for each student, while fostering confidence, joy, and a deep appreciation for music that will remain with them throughout their life. I work to provide your child not only with the skills required for their instrument, but a new sense of boldness as they perform. All children will receive instruction not only in their instrument, but also in music theory, which will carry them to any and all other instruments or music ventures they wish to pursue. I would like to thank all you parents who have entrusted me with this mission, and I am honored to have the opportunity to work with your children! A special note from Miss Elizabeth: I grew up in a world riddled with opposition and negativity. For every step forward I took, it seemed as if I was pushed two steps back. I had some teachers in my youth that were encouraging and uplifting, and I am forever grateful to them. Other teachers tried to mold me into their version of "perfection." In the performing arts there are all sorts of expectations put on you to act a certain way, talk a certain way, dress a certain way, think a certain way. The peer pressure is enormous. This struggle to be "perfect" and to "fit in" weighed on me for years, until finally someone reached out and pulled me up and told me to just "be." Not to try to please others, but just be my best me. The "me" that I was born to be! With all the negativity in the world today, my mission is to be that voice. The voice that tells young people... "You CAN" "You are GOOD" "You are SPECIAL" "You have a GIFT" "You are BEAUTIFUL" "You are SMART" "You are ABLE" If I can give that to each child and teenager who I have the honor of teaching, my hope is that the encouragement I give them will stay with them as they grow and encounter new challenges to overcome. That they will carry the same boldness and confidence they gain from their music lessons into anything and everything they set out to do. That they always remember THEY CAN because NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!
