Elizabeth was well prepared and very organized!

Elizabeth is an outstanding teacher, and my daughter looks forward to her weekly lesson. My daughter has grown so much on the violin since she started studying with Elizabeth, including being selected for the symphonic high school orchestra as an incoming freshman. I love the way Elizabeth weaves in historical context and artistry. Glad we signed up!

Elizabeth is very understanding, patient, personable and knowledgeable. I started playing viola when I was a child and only just picked it back up 20 years later. Already the progress has been significant and I enjoy each advancement after her lessons.

Great instructor !!!! very helpful

She is very patience all though time to time you can hear some piano

Great first lesson!

yayy

I'm an intermediate player who needed refinement and refresher of my core techniques. I went to Elizabeth because she has a background in both fiddle & classical. After watching me play, she affirmed that which I was doing correctly and then helped me to improve where I was lacking. I would recommend Elizabeth.

really good

Good lesson!

Thank you for the lesson and have a great weekend.

It was my first lesson and I really enjoyed. Elizabeth is amazing and I do recommend her weather beginner ,intermediate or advanced!!!:)

It was fun and I learned a lot!

Thank you! You have helped me improve so much! So excited for our next lesson!

Elizabeth is so knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable. Thanks for a great first lesson.

Elizabeth is a phenomenal instructor! Both kind and patient, she is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to help me understand the nuances of technique or the background of a particular piece of music. I'm nowhere near a natural player, but her approach to structuring my lessons and practice activities fits my needs as a learner, especially considering that I am an adult student juggling a myriad of other responsibilities. Elizabeth is adept at tailoring her lessons and long-term approach to my growth as a player to my skills and challenges, so that I not only immensely enjoy the experience, but also feel the growth I am making each and every week. She's the best I've ever had!!

She helped me with fingering and bowing today. She is very helpful and a great teacher.

Ms. Elizabeth is a really good teacher. She has been helping me become a better violin player. I like the way she teaches!

Ms B. is concise and shows an understanding of where my daughter is at in the process. Irene said she had fun and is looking forward to the next lesson. Thank you.

it was fun

I was a bit skeptical in taking lessons online but Elizabeth is an extraordinary teacher that knows how to teach even online. I would highly recommend her.

She was very patient and sweet! My daughter really enjoyed her lesson.

it was great thank u.

thank you

Excellent! Both of my girls were happy and excited after the lessons. They are very different and Elizabeth connected with both of them.

Miss Elizabeth is a wonderful violin teacher. She is very patient and kind which helps the student feel comfortable and receptive to learning. She is extremely gifted musically and we have appreciated her instruction for our daughter over the past 2 years!
LW

Great job. She really did a good job helping me hit all the rhythms I wanted. I would recommend her to others who need a good violin instructor.

I have an extremely busy life and Elizabeth is very understanding and patient with me. I appreciate this very much and it helps me not feel intimidated, pressured, or give up on myself. She encourages me to find at least a few minutes everyday to practice and that the muscle memory will get better as I progress. I highly recommend Elizabeth for any age student.

great instructor!!!!

She was very helpful and nice. I like having her as an instructor. She was very good overall.

Elizabeth was very flexible and worked with us perfectly. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t change!

She taught my daughter Bani. My daughter enjoyed her classes and made demonstrable progress in her writing skills. Highly recommend.

From my daughter: Elizabeth is very caring and helpful. She is making me a better violinist.

Elizabeth is an outstanding violin pedagogue. She is also patient and sympathetic to my musical needs. She has a great sense of humor and makes lessons fun. I can recommend her without reservation.

Elizabeth is teaching my daughter and she is really enjoying the lessons and learning a lot. Her lessons are clear, and she provides the attention and detail needed to get better.

What a great learning experience. I came the first time to her as an adult beginner who has no musical background whatsoever. She is super helpful, very informative, and fun to work with.

She made me feel comfortable and took me to the lesson plan step by step. As with the homework.

Elizabeth is an artist at heart. She's very patient and kind. I highly recommend her!
I came to Elizabeth as an adult student with a few years of experience in playing, but with a lot of doubts about whether I could advance. I'd previously taken lessons at the Music Institute of Chicago (Evanston campus), but I didn't like how they did things over there. They are extremely overpriced for what they offer. In my first lesson there, my teacher wouldn't even let me pick up the bow and she made me play Twinkle Twinkle over and over again...
Elizabeth made playing very relaxing. Her approach is just to attack the material without any hesitations. And if you make a mistake, just do it again. She let me pick out the repertoire, which made me excited to play, and offered great recommendations on material that would help my playing. Sometimes I was too ambitious and she'd be the first to point out that maybe I wasn't ready for a piece just yet. Then she'd recommend something else that would help me get there.
Elizabeth teaches from her home and it's pretty easy to get to by train, bus, or car.
Professional and experienced teacher
Professional and experienced teacher, very flexible and attentive.
We love Ms. Brown!
Ms. Brown is professional and kind, which is a wonderful way to learn a new skill like playing the violin. My daughters were taught by her years ago as young children and then we lost track of her. When we found her on TakeLessons, we signed up, willing to drive miles for her instruction. She is thorough, clear in instruction and so even tempered. What a great teacher!
