I am an Orthodox Rabbi who worked in Jewish education for 10 years.  I have tutored in Biblical Hebrew, Tanach, and rabbinic texts for close to 20 years.  My goal as a teacher is to give my students a strong foundation that will allow the student to develop both fluency and independence in their studies.  Though I provide many of the materials, Biblical Hebrew lessons will be based on "The First Hebrew Primer."  For more experienced students, I can assist in the study of the weekly Torah portion, or any other Biblical or rabbinic text desired.  I look forward to working with you!

I am just your average country boy who became interested in Hebrew and Jewish studies and wound up becoming an Orthodox Rabbi. I was a yeshiva teacher in NY for over 10 years and have privately tutored in Hebrew and Jewish topics for the past 20 years.  I have made it my mission to make it easier for people from all backgrounds and walks of life to gain a basic knowledge of Biblical and Jewish texts and the languages they are written in. Over the years, I have taught Biblical Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish, as well as a wide range of Jewish texts and topics. 

I am married to my high school sweetheart and have 3 wonderful children. In addition to languages and Jewish studies, I have a keen interest in music, philosophy and Medieval History.

Eliezer is a great teacher.  He is very knowledgeable concerning Hebrew, but patient with a new learner.  I highly recommend him.

Learning Hebrew is a must for any scholarship of the Bible and having a great teacher makes it all the more exciting. Looking forward to moving into Yiddish once I've mastered the holy tongue.

Splendid chap who is immeasurably knowledgeable concerning things related to Hebrew and Judaism.   A patient and gentle teacher who is a true guide to the perplexed,  curious or otherwise knowledge-seeking student.  He is my all-time favorite teacher for these reasons.

Eliezer is patient and thorough in his explanations. Every lesson builds on and reinforces prior content in a clear and easy to follow way.  He offers a variety of topics that make learning Hebrew accessible and interesting. As a student, I find myself quickly making connections between the lessons and other exposures I have to the language, as in prayers, conversation, and text study. I am grateful that another friend referred him to me.

As a tutor Eliezer is very personable, down-to-earth, and good at making complex grammar easier to navigate. It helps me a lot to have a tutor who understands test anxiety and who has the patience to approach challenging exercises from different angles until it clicks!
