I began violin lessons at age five, and was requested by the youth conductor to join the Palm Beach Youth Symphony a year later. For eight consecutive years, I performed with many other youth orchestras and served as concert mistress several times. At the age of thirteen, I auditioned for and joined The Venice Symphony during the 2004-2005 season and was a part of their ensemble for seven consecutive seasons, including the position as assistant principal. In addition to the Venice Symphony, I have also performed with the Sarasota Pops for two seasons, The South Shore Symphony Orchestra as assistant concert mistress and as concert mistress, and Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra. Recently, I relocated to the South Philly and performed with the Delaware County Symphony in Aston, PA, and the Rose Tree Pops located in Media, PA for a ouple of years. Over the years I have had performing experience with violin duets and trios with a classical guitarist on a number of occasions for weddings, Christmas shows, and restaurant events. Some of my performance venues include the 800 Bay Restaurant and Club, the Four Seasons, the Sugarhouse Casino, and the Pyramid Club.
In addition to my musical career, I am also heavily training in the sport of ice dancing. Currently, my brother and ice dance partner, Stephen, and I are 3 time national competitors at the championship level with plans to compete internationally. Through my experience as a performer both in music and on the ice, I can give to each student not only the ability to create music through the violin, but also the mental ability to handle performing and competitive atmospheres.
*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons offer an extensive education in technique, musicality, music theory, and most importantly, effective practice methods that increase capability and skill rapidly. I tailor my lessons specifically according to the student's abilities and strengths, while incorporating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Typically, I use the Suzuki and Strictly Strings books for beginner students, and I will then advance to etude studies such as Wolfarht and Sevick in addition to the Suzuki sequels for my intermediate students. Lastly, I will add Introducing the Positions, Mazas, Josephine Trott Double Stops, and solo concertos to my advanced students.
After a few months, my students acquire a well rounded knowledge and feel for the violin and classical music and appreciate the art and beauty music brings to life. They are always strongly impacted and inspired to pursue and achieve higher goals and activities.
*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a living room with a grand piano, two music stands, and seating for parents.
*** Travel Equipment ***
My violin, a music stand, extra music, fingerboard tape, a metronome, stickers, and a tuner. I will expect my student to have his own violin and bow, a case, a shoulder rest, and music, music stand (can be portable), and a notebook for recording lesson assignments and corrections.
*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical violin, and I have worked with the Suzuki Method, but I am also very open to other methods and schools.
My brother, Stephen, and I formed The R. Duo at the end of 2010, and we thoroughly enjoy adding a classical flare to weddings, private and corporate events, and restaurant ambiance through violin duets.
I performed with them for a brief period of time before I relocated
I performed with The Venice Symphony as a second violinist for seven consecutive seasons. The last couple of seasons, I served as Assistant Principal Second Violin.
First lesson was great. Thank you!
My child liked the class
I have been taking online violin lessons with Elicia for two years. I am a full-time phd student, hoping to learn violin in the very limited time I have. I started with almost no background in music and after 40 lessons or so, we managed to get through Sukuzi book 1, the first half of book 2 and a few pieces from Wolfhart. I am grateful for her help in making progress, not only in the sense of being able to play more pieces, but also of cultivating good habits.
I enjoy learning violin with Elicia and highly recommend her as a violin teacher. She is very good at communicating ideas, and I’ve always found her instructions very descriptive and helpful. I would also attribute it to a good understanding of the learning process, since she is often able to anticipate the issues I might have and to make suggestions accordingly.
I truly enjoy my lessons with Elicia. She is very detailed in explaining what she is teaching, and she pays close attention to you when you are playing. She noticed if your hand and posture is in the correct position and if you are playing the right or wrong note. She goes over each piece you are playing bar by bar and she also plays it before she ask you to play. I am more impressed with her than when I went to a school to take lessons.+ Read More
Elicia is a very patient instructor, able to work with the shyest of people. I began taking lessons once a week, as able thanks to work and health. I wanted to learn violin to help my brain think different. Any instrument is good for enhancing creativity.
I ended up learning other things about myself. I'm still shy in front of teachers, even after spending time as a teacher myself (of mythology). After the first lesoon to two, I learned how to relax the tension in my wrists, a place I carry it often. Learning to work with the bow taught me skills to release that tension any time. I was quite amazed.
Elicia is good at providing what is needed, whether skills, adaptations , or simply a listening ear. She has helped me slowly increase my sense if self-worth, and for that I am very thankful. She recently helped me find ways to work with worsening carpal tunnel, to hopefully keep me learning and practising until such a time as I can have surgery.
I would highly recommend Elicia to anyone looking to learn the violin!
Elicia is really nice. It was my son's first lesson with her. She has a lot of patience and explains everything clearly for my child's age.
Had a great time learning from Elicia, I wish I chose a longer lesson the half hour goes by fast. I've already learned more in our first lesson than I have my entire time trying on my own. Can't wait to get to the next one.
Elicia was excellent! She was patient, kind, helpful, informative, and supportive. Most importantly, she engaged well with my daughter and explained things in terms that my daughter could easily understand. She's everything I wanted for my 6 year old to learn the violin! :-)+ Read More

Greta first lesson. Great teacher!
Greta first lesson. Gest teacher!
It was a very good experience. I am pleased to being learning new techniques which, I had not been using and adapting to a more precise method of learning.
Only 2nd though- we had to reschedule last weeks and then I missed the rescheduled one.
We haven't talked about making it up- she's is awesome though! So good and patient with my 4.5 year old!
I'm 26, learning violin for the first time. I taught myself some of the basics and a handful of simple songs for a month, then started taking online lessons from Elicia for the past two months. I couldn't be happier that I did. Although online lessons have certain difficulties (which would be present no matter which teacher you have), my lessons have been very effective in improving my skills. Elicia is really kind and patient, and is also very good at catching and correcting my mistakes. I feel like I have gotten and will continue to get much better with her guidance, and I'm glad I'm able to learn from her. I'd definitely recommend her to others.+ Read More
Elicia is terrific, very talented, and works great with my 8 yr old son
Great first lesson! Made it very fun and did not present the material in a way that was intimidating. She introduced information well and explained everything thoroughly. Very excited to continue.
My nine year old daughter enjoys her lessons with Miss Reynolds. She said today, "The violin lesson is so fun." The Skype method through Take Lessons makes violin possible again-flexible, affordable and available. Miss Reynolds know how to guide us (example if the violin goes out of tune) and teach my daughter just at her level and keep her challenged just right. Perfect!+ Read More

Elicia is a wonderfully talented Violinist! My daughter started lessons two years ago and loves going every week. Elicia is encouraging and very positive, she will point out areas that need to be re-worked. If something is not up to par she will add it to the lesson the following week and allow for more practice time. Elicia is truly wonderful I couldn't have asked for a better instructor for my daughter! I am so lucky to have found her on take lessons.+ Read More
Excellent technique, wonderful personality, and accommodates the students needs!
I've only just completed my 3rd lesson, but I've already improved a good deal.
Elicia is very good at being able to keep an eye and ear on how you're playing and giving you advice at how to play better or what to correct. She's also very flexible in how she teaches - whether it's more streamlined or casual lessons, she helps your improve either way.
Elicia is just awesome. Not only does she know her stuff, she is also enjoyable to work with. It made learning violin enjoyable.
she has made my desire to play the violin better and more . I feel excited happy and glad she is my teacher every time I leave a lesson . I feel I m learning and being confident at the same time THANKS ELICIA
Elicia is an excellent instructor and was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. My daughter, who is 12, was nervous about the one on one sessions. She has only studied violin in a group setting, but Elicia really had a positive style and encouraged her throughout the lessons.
Playing more music than ever
Elicia has help me learn what I always wanted to since I have started playing again I am now expanding my quartet repetoire.
Elicia is a wonderful teacher, I had recognized her kindness, professionalism, reliability and patient with my daughter. She is excellent and knowledgeable teacher that she can see all the angles of the studentâs need and very well focus to produce an excellent student. My daughter is very happy with her and I highly recommend her to anybody interested of learning to play violin.
Elicia is a wonderful teacher. She is patient and kind and gives great tips on how to practice a piece of music. Elicia is positive in her method of instruction, highlighting the student's strengths while building confidence with challenging sections. I would strongly recommend Elicia to any parent looking for a teacher for their son or daughter. Within the month that my son has been taking lessons with Elicia, I already hear a difference in his playing.
greatest music content
Elicia has helped me understand and play music which I have hoped to do. She has solidified my old skills and is teaching me many more. I am happy with my lessons.
Making great strides
As an adult student I am interested in learning to play the best I can. Elicia has helped me tremendously in improving my technique and tone. I still have a long way to go but Elicia is very patient and sets short term goals which are practical and each week I can make progress which is very encouraging. Thank you Elicia.
My daughter loves her...
Elicia is a great teacher! My 9 year old daughter- Allison loves her. She is very knowledgeable and polite and is very patient. She has been very flexible with her schedule to accomodate us and has been a pleasure to know.
Exactly what we wanted
My son is 17 and wanted to learn the violin. He has no interest in ever playing professionally; he just wants to have fun with it. Elicia, listened and respected our wishes about having laid back lessons. Other istructors who I spoke with were very pushy about having to do things their way. He is really have fun.
I think Eleicia ia a great teacher. I have learned more than I ever knew in three lessons. I am confident she will be able to teach me what I want to know.
