When I was in 3rd grade I learned music at school with a clarinet and fell in love with music. Once I reached Jr. High I learned Tenor Saxophone until I reached college. Once I reached college I learned to play trumpet and mellophone for marching band. Through out those years I was also playing piano. I am currently the main musician at my church and I play both the piano and trumpet/mellophone weekly. While I didn't get a Bachelors degree in music I was able to get a minor in music with plenty of exposure to theory. I work well with children and I have have a lot of patience.
*** Lesson Details ***
I am pretty easy going with my students but I do make sure to set expectations on what needs to be done. Learning music should be a fun and enjoyable experience. I use Alfred method books to teach piano and Essential Elements for the trumpet. After 6 months my students would have learned reading standard rhythms, learn to read the bass and treble clef and memorized several scales.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Music Room: electric full Piano weighted key, laptop and speakers, music stand, chairs, parents can sit in on lesson
*** Travel Equipment ***
Don't provide equipment, I expect the students to have the instrument they are learning.
I am in charge of the music department at church.
Music and Math
Elias is very patient, supportive piano teacher, he showed me techniques in a way that i can understand easily, counting notes(which i thought it is not very important) but it is I know now through his encourgement and support. This is the reason why i rate Elias a 5 star piano teacher.
