"You've done more for me in one lesson than all three of my previous teachers the whole time I was studying with them."
I'm an effective fun-to-work-with vocal instructor in Manhattan, NYC. I started teaching by request when I was a young professional singer in the classical world, but I opened my studios and started doing it in larger blocks in 2000. I've previously taught in Hollywood, CA, San Francisco, and throughout California. I also do Skype and other online platform lessons. I also still teach a few times a year in San DIego, CA, Hollywood, CA, San Francisco, CA and Amsterdam, NL.
After taking lessons with me, many of my students have gone on to achieve some pretty crazy things! Nominations and wins at top-level awards such as the Grammys and the Chinese Music Awards, Regional level accomplishments and local competitions such as the Los Angeles and San Diego Music Awards (8 nominations out of which emerged 3 wins). My students have won auditions to the Voice (multiple students internationally), American Idol (US), they've charted hit songs in the top ten and even #1 hits internationally, they've scored TV gigs and placed their songs in film and TV including The Real World on MTV and others. They've headlined venues as large as the Hong Kong Coliseum (Capacity 13,000 I think I recall) down to as small as my living-room (capacity:3; 4 if no one eats for seven days prior). See my Awards section or my website for more deets on student achievements!
I love working with beginners and do accept those with no professional goals - the most pure form of musical love is doing it because you enjoy it and I respect that! I even work with people who think they are "tone deaf". I've worked with many students over the course of the 16 years I've been teaching 20 hours a week and have taught over 15,000 hours of singing lessons! --- taking coffee breaks in there as well! ;P They say you become an expert when you've done something for 10,000 hours and I am happy to say my skills have grown a lot over the years! Swing by for a lesson and let's see what we can get done!
