    About Eleanor T.

As an artist and encourager, my goal is to fully equip singers wanting to reach their potential as vocalists, grow as performers, and develop as artists. That includes providing practical vocal training, classical technique, guidance in vocal health, as well as problem solving with vocal trouble spots, direction in choosing the very best songs to fit the individual’s unique sound, and challenging the singer to communicate the power or the subtle beauty behind each lyric and melody. I received a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a professional vocalist, I performed a variety of styles in venues around the world with performances in solo cabaret on cruise ships, jazz quartets, theatre, reviews, studio session work, concert ministry, and worship leading. Based in Orlando, as our two children reached school age, I began to travel less, perform locally, and focus more on developing a vocal studio for private voice lessons. That’s when I discovered my passion for investing in those who want to pursue the art of singing. At one point during a long run of seven performances per week, my vocal cords were in need of healing and a speedy full recovery – which I gratefully received! Since then, putting into practice what I learned from speech therapists and ENT physicians specializing in vocal health for professional singers, I’ve coached many singers through vocal cord healing and recovery to resume performing at 100%! In addition to vocal instruction, as an experienced composer and songwriting instructor, I offer private coaching in songwriting. I’ve written and published over 100 songs in various styles and forms including pop, choral, worship, and musical theatre. My larger works include a series of five musicals for youth arts camps, and a collection of 60 Scripture Songs for children (translated and used in over 30 countries). My teaching experience in songwriting includes private coaching for adults, master classes for teens, and songwriting courses for adults with cognitive disabilities. For those of my students who are singer songwriters, I’m happy to dedicate a portion of our voice lesson time to coaching on their original material. I now live in Seattle, and enjoy teaching online to connect with my students wherever they are, regardless of location or time zone! Whether you want a short-term assist (an audition coach, a few brush up lessons, tips for navigating a trouble spot in your voice, etc.) or you are in search of a positive, invested instructor to walk with you throughout your journey as a vocalist… I would love to hear from you!

Eleanor is an Amazing vocal coach and singer! I absolutely loved working with her! She laid the foundation for my singing- teaching me correct posture and support, placement, and interpretation of musical styles. Eleanor’s warm and caring demeanor, her encouragement and support made her a joy to work with! Her passion for singing and teaching and her commitment to my progress were obvious. I HIGHLY recommend Eleanor as a vocal coach! Her extensive knowledge and experience make her a valuable asset for any level singer, from beginner to professional.

I had an amazing experience taking lessons from Eleanor. She gave me clear exercises that I could work on between lessons and increased my music theory without ever making me feel like I was unaware or incapable. She is firm and realistic about practice with her and on my own so I felt like I had goals I could reach and goals I wanted to reach before our next lesson. You can tell she has a lot of experience in music, voice, and teaching as she gives background and explanations for why and how these exercises and practices are important for your particular voice. Lessons with her were always fun and informative without feeling stressful which helped my confidence in my own voice as well. I have background and training in music, but would recommend her to anyone at any level because of her experience, training, and welcoming personality.

Eleanor is an absolutely amazing vocal coach, and person. Through years of training, I learned so much about vocal skill and health. She encouraged a broad variety of musical genres, which ultimately helped me to find a style that best fit my voice, as well as appreciation for styles that I may not have chosen myself. She is positive & encouraging and pours her heart into her students. I highly recommend her!

    Private Vocal Instructor

    Vocal Studio

For 15 years, I limited my studio to 20 students per week (each student with a 1 hour lesson, and kept track of a waiting list. In addition, I accepted appointments for audition prep packages for those who are not weekly students, but requesting coaching 2-3 lessons in preparation for a specific audition or upcoming performance) I took a hiatus from teaching weekly lessons for a few years in order to devote my time to my family, music ministry, and writing. Now I'm back teaching again and delighted about that!
