    About Elaine Sin Yee Y.

    Sin Yee is making headlines as a sensational young pianist in her home, Malaysia. She is the top prize winner at the 5th Thailand International Piano Competition 2018, Singapore National Piano and Violin Competition (Artist Category) in 2013, and the 1st Thailand International Mozart Piano Competition in 2011. Sin Yee has performed in various concerts, including Singapore Chamber Music Festival (2013-2016), the Kuala Lumpur Piano Gala Concert (2013), the International Festival of Classical Music Kuala Lumpur (2011). She made her home orchestral debut, performing Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini with the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) Orchestra in 2015 under the baton of Mr. Lee Kok Leong, and she had collaborated with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Penang Philharmonic Orchestra and Metropolitan Festival Orchestra Singapore. She also performed for renowned artists in masterclasses such as Dang Thai Son, Jean Yves-Thibaudet, Stephen Hough, Elisso Virsaladze, Mikhail Voskresensky, Jerome Lowenthal, Gottlieb Wallisch, Konstantin Scherbakov, Ann Schein, Lisa Smirnova. She was a participant at the 1st Hanoi International Piano Festival 2018, The International Holland Music Sessions 2015 and 35th Kirishima International Music Festival 2014. Sin Yee completed her Graduate Diploma and Master of Music degree at the New England Conservatory, and Bachelor of Music degree at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory. Her principle teachers include Haesun Paik, Albert Tiu, Meng-Chieh Liu and Dr. Nicholas Ong. She will be pursuing Doctor of Musical Arts at Michigan State University in Fall 2019, studying with Margarita Shevchenko. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, travelling and playing badminton.
