Because I have a variety of interests, I've had the opportunity to work in several fields. My careers have included: 9th grade English and reading teacher; paralegal; legal editor; consultant; mediator; attorney; Philosophy professor; and English coach for foreign professionals. Teaching was involved in almost all of these because connecting with people through the learning process is a great gift. My education credentials are: B.S. English & Philosophy (Magna Cum Laude); M.A. Education & Philosophy; and a J.D. from Florida State University. I also have teaching licenses from Kentucky and Florida, mediator certification, and am a member of the Florida Bar. I have resided in the U.S. state of Florida for most of my adult life. Living near the ocean and being able to spend time outside every day are essential to me. Some things I enjoy doing: traveling, reading, walking on the beach and in the woods, biking, hanging out with friends. My household includes three furred beings: Jax, a greyhound-mix, and Simon and Sienna, my two wise tabbies. All three are rescues. In the past, I have also had horses in my life. Multi-species interactions, in my opinion, make us more fully human. As my student, you can expect to always be treated respectfully and from the beginning, I will focus on providing lessons that are tailored to your individual needs.
